After breakfast, meet your driver-guide at your accommodation in Ouarzazate and begin your desert journey toward Merzouga. Travel southeast through the palm groves of Skoura, one of the most beautiful oasis regions in southern Morocco, then continue through the Rose Valley, known for its seasonal blooms and kasbah landscapes.

Continue through the scenic Dades Valley, where unusual rock formations and mountain roads create striking panoramic views, including the famous Monkey Fingers formations. Later, arrive at the dramatic Todra Gorge, often called the Grand Canyon of Morocco, where you will have time to walk, explore, and enjoy lunch surrounded by towering canyon walls.

In the afternoon, continue through Tinjdad and pass through Erfoud, famous for fossils and marble craftsmanship. Depending on timing, you may stop at a local fossil site or workshop before reaching Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara.

At your hotel near the dunes, leave the vehicle behind and begin your camel trek into Erg Chebbi. Ride through the golden dunes as the sun sets over the desert, creating one of the most beautiful moments of the journey. Arrive at your Berber desert camp, where a Moroccan dinner awaits. Spend the night in a traditional nomad-style tent in the heart of the dunes.

Wake up early to admire the breathtaking sunrise over the Sahara dunes, then return by camel to the hotel area for breakfast and a shower. Afterward, begin the return journey to Ouarzazate through another spectacular route across southern Morocco.

Travel through Rissani, one of the most important desert towns in the region, where you may stop to visit its traditional souk. Continue toward Alnif, Tazarine, and N’Kob, passing through desert roads, oasis villages, and beautiful open landscapes.

The route then enters the famous Draa Valley, one of Morocco’s most impressive palm-filled valleys, lined with kasbahs, mud-brick villages, and long stretches of greenery. Continue through Agdez and cross the Anti-Atlas Mountains before arriving back in Ouarzazate, where your 2-day desert trip comes to an end.
